I would require every high school student to take 3 years of math and 3 years of science in order to graduate.
Explanation:
The math courses would include calculus and the science courses would include chemistry and physics.
That would hopefully create an American populace that wouldn't be so ignorant of such important things, and that would certainly make the world a better place.
Communication and availability of information makes the world a better place. New ways of communicating with people near and far are created by people who use math and science.
Explanation:
Like all human endeavors, communication and information will be both good and bad. But with more ways to explore what people say and more resources to investigate the information provided, a person or a society has a better chance of exposing the negative and finding the positive.
The history of the world has demonstrated how math and science have improved the human condition.
Explanation:
Math and science has overcome diseases, built safer buildings and infrastructure, led to understanding the physical world, led to understanding what is good or bad for the environment and the use of natural resources. Using math and science to overcome mistakes and the dangers of life on Earth can continue indefinitely into the future if that is the choice of those who use it.
