I'm not sue what this is asking me to do could anyone help please? Use the linear relationship between two variables to determine the length of the spring when a mass of 45.0 g is applied to it.
a 10.4 cm
b 16.3 cm
c 16.8 cm
d 17.1 cm

I got 17.2, so answer d is probably it.
Explanation:
Notice that if you start with 10 g and then change to 30 g the spring stretch changes by 1.5 cm.
Now, the chart does not show data for 45 g, but look at what the chart shows the stretch to be with 25 g on it: 15.7 cm. 25 g is 20 g less than 45 g and we just found (in the first paragraph) that a 20 g increase causes the stretch to increase by 1.5 cm.
Stretch for 25 g = 15.7 cm
Additional stretch for additional 20 g = 1.5 cm
15.7 cm + 1.5 cm = 17.2 cm
I hope this helps,
Steve
