The 3D grid forms a nice rectangular lattice so we can use the Pythagorean Theorem:

$d^2 =(-2 - -1)^2 + (0 - 4)^2 + (1 - -2)^2$ or

$d = \sqrt{1+16+9}=sqrt{26}$
