Distance in 3D is just pythagoras, except you now have a term for the z coordinates.

$d^2 = (8-1)^2 + (0+4)^2 + (6-5)^2$
$d^2 = (7)^2 + (4)^2 + (1)^2$
$d^2 = 49 + 16 + 1$
$d^2 = 66$
$d = sqrt(66)$
