If we lived in an environment without air resistance, we would experience this phenomenon. But, our reality is we drop a feather and a bowling ball at the same time and the bowling ball rockets to the ground while the feather floats slowly down.
The reason the feather floats slowly and the bowling ball doesn't is because of air resistance.
