$\frac{1}{x - 1} + \frac{1}{2 (x - 1)} = 5$ $1/(x-1)+1/(2(x-1))=5$

$\Rightarrow \frac{2 + 1}{2 (x - 1)} = 5$ $=>(2+1)/(2(x-1))=5$

$\Rightarrow \frac{3}{2 (x - 1)} = 5$ $=>3/(2(x-1))=5$

$\Rightarrow x - 1 = \frac{3}{10} = 0.3$ $=>x-1=3/10=0.3$

$\Rightarrow x = 1 + 0.3 = 1.3$ $=>x=1+0.3=1.3$
