We can try substituting the first into the second equation for y to get:

solve using the Quadratic Formula:
x1,2=2±4+122=2±42
we get two solutions:
x1=62=3
x2=23=1

These two values, substituted into the first equation will give us:
x1=3 then y1=23=6
x2=1 then y2=2(1)=2
