x-intercept: (-2)
y-intercept: (+2)

Explanation:

The x-intercept is the value of x when y=0
color(white)("XXX")y=x+2 with y=0
color(white)("XXX")rarr 0=x+2
color(white)("XXX") rarr x=-2

The y-intercept is the value of y when x=0
color(white)("XXX")y=x+2 with x=0
color(white)("XXX")rarr y=0+2
color(white)("XXX")rarr y=2

Occasionally you may get a teacher who wants the intercepts expressed as
(1) coordinates
color(white)("XXX")in which case the x-intercept is at (-2,0)
color(white)("XXX")and the y-intercept is at (0,2)
or
(2) an equation
color(white)("XXX")in which case the x-intercept is x=-2
color(white)("XXX")and the y-intercept is y=2
