This function has a vertical shift of 4 units up.

If you were to graph $y=sqrt(x)$ you would just move each point up 4 units.

$f(x)=sqrt(x)$ is shown by the blue curve and

$f(x)=sqrt(x)+4$ is shown by the red curve below
