$= color(blue)(3x^2y + 4y^2 +9x^2 + 14y + 6$

$(3x^2+4y+2)color(blue)((y+3)$

$= (3x^2 . color(blue)(y)) + (4y .color(blue)(y)) + (2 . color(blue)(y))$

$= color(blue)(3x^2y + 4y^2 + 2y$ .......... $(1)$

Multiply $color(blue)(3)$ with each of the three terms of the first bracket:
$= (3x^2 . color(blue)(3)) + (4y .color(blue)(3)) + (2 . color(blue)(3))$
