How do you simplify the expression (m + 6)^2?

You can expand the expression (m+6)^2 (although I am not sure this "simplifies" it.

(m+6)^2 = m^2 +12m +36

If this is all you need you can stop reading now.
If you are unsure of how this is determined, continue...

(m+6)^2

=(m+6)xx(m+6)

=mxx(m+6) + 6xx(m+6)

= (m^2 +6m) + (6m+36)

= m^2 + 12m +36

In general
(ax+b)^2 = (ax)^2 + 2abx + b^2
