t = -2

Rearrange to get the terms in t on one side, and the numbers on the other. Make sure you apply the rule of "change the side = change the sign".

$15t - 5 = -35$

$15t = -35 + 5$

$15t = -30$

$t = -30 / 15 = -2$

$t=-2$

Add 5 to both sides

$15t-5+5=-35+5$

but -5+5=0 giving

$15t+0=-30$

$15t=-30$

Divide both sides by 15

$15/15 t=-30/15$

but $15/15=1" and "-30/15=-2$

$1xxt=-2$

Not that is not good mathematical practice to show the $1xxt$ it should just be $t$

$t=-2$
