Given that,

$5x+3y=-6$

Substituting $y=-4-2x$

$5x+3(-4-2x)=-6$

$5x-12-6x=-6$ [By transposing method:]

$-12+6=6x-5x$

$y=-4-2xx-6$

$y=-4+12$
