Multiplying the first equation by $3$ $3$ and the seond by $- 2$ $-2$ we get

$6 x + 15 = - 27$ $6x+15=-27$
$- 6 x + 8 y = 4$ $-6x+8y=4$
adding both we get

$23 y = - 23$ $23y=-23$
so $y = - 1$ $y=-1$

so we get

$2 x - 5 = - 9$ $2x-5=-9$

$2 x = - 4$ $2x=-4$
