$4(3t +6) = -4(t +2) +8(t +2)(3t +6)$

$12t +24 = -4t -8 +8(3t^2 +12t +12)$

$12t +24 = -4t -8 +24t^2 +96t +96$

$24t^2 +80t +64 = 0$

$3t^2 +10t +8 = 0$

$(3t +4)(t +2) = 0$

$t= -2 or -4/3$
