The solution for the system of equations is

$y=color(blue)(2x$ ......equation $(1)$
$x+2y=8$ ....equation $(2)$

Solving by substitution , substituting equation $1$ in equation $2$

$x+2y=8$

$x+2 * color(blue)(2x)=8$

$x+4x=8$

$5x=8$
$color(blue)(x=8/5$

Substituting the value of $x$ in equation $1$ to find $y$
$y=2x$

$y=2* (8/5)$

$color(blue)(y=16/5$
