The solution for the system of equations is

Solving through substitution

Substituting equation $(1)$ in equation $(2)$ to find $y$ :
$x−2y=−4$
$5-y−2y=−4$
$-3y=−9$
$color(blue)(y=3$

Substituting the value of $y$ in equation $(1)$ to find $x$
$x=5-y$
$x=5-3$
$color(blue)(x=2$
