The y-intercept is -2, and the point is (0,-2). The x-intercept is -6 and the point is (-6,0)

To find the y-intercept, set x equal to zero.

x+3y=-6

0+3y=-6

3y=-6

y=-6/3

y=-2

To find the x-intercept, set y equal to zero.

x+3y=-6

x+3*0=-6

x=-6
